Making connections
The only way I can think of relating the issues in Born a Crime to the pandemic that is currently affecting us is that both were associated with flawed authority figures. Apartheid was put into place by people with racist viewpoints. The virus outbreak could have been lessened, or maybe even prevented, in America if it was contained, but it wasn't really treated as a big deal until it was already too late. Another connection is that we have to stay away from others to avoid inflicting more sickness and in Born a Crime Trevor Noah had to stay hidden from others to avoid being caught as someone who was born illegally. This would affect both himself and his parents because he was "proof of their criminality", and in a similar way if one person catches the virus then the people that they live with would also face consequences. Both situations limit a person's ability to go out and do whatever they want to do.
